Here are just a few ways we are champions for accessibility:
We offer large-type, braille and even "talking" labels for our visually impaired members. A ScripTalk device can read labels aloud.
More than 6,000 of our employees have completed accessibility training to better help members of all abilities.
Text Telephone (TTY)
Our phone operations use TTY text phone service (800-876-1089) to better communicate with people with hearing impairments.
Our guidelines ensure our experiences and communications are designed for all members. We code our applications to work with assistive technology like screen readers.
How we'll keep opening doors for everyone:
As we update our website, we follow the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0. These are the most widely accepted standards and tell designers and developers how to boost accessibility. We aim to develop our websites to conform to the industry standard level AA.
We continually test our apps and web services with volunteers of all backgrounds and all abilities. When we find a barrier to some, we fix it for all.
We still have work to do. We won't stop until we transform the member experience for people of all abilities.
